In the information society, the virtual environment allows Internet users ample freedom of expression and activism. On the other hand, the information placed in the virtual environment - often provided voluntarily by the user themselves, believing they are exercising their right to freedom of expression and information - is appropriated by transnational companies in the information and communication technology sector, as a source of profit for the purpose of selling it or passing it on to governments, in a clear affront to individuals' right to privacy. Thus, it is necessary to study the possibility of humanizing globalization through the international accountability of transnational companies that violate the human right to privacy.
