On March 2, 2009, it was announced Rita Rocks was renewed for a 20-episode second season.Rita Rocks returned for its second season on October 5, 2009 at 7:30pm, following the series premiere of Sherri. The two comedies will air new episodes for the entire week. Rita Rocks then moved to its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 10:30pm.On October 26, 2009, Rita Rocks moved to Mondays at 9:00pm and 10:00pm. On January 11, 2010, Lifetime cancelled Rita Rock due to low ratings.
