He was awarded three Choongmoo medals of gallantry and was wounded during the final combat on the 1031 Hill near Hyangrobong. After the armistice, he returned home as a captain. He became engrossed in the struggle for life after being discharged from military service. When he finally ended his life, he showed the love for his brethren and humanitarianism.

Autorenporträt
Born in S. Korea, the author, a witness of the Korean War served in the ROK Army 105 mm artillery. After the ceasefire, he returned to schooling. He holds a B.A. and M. A. in English literature. He immigrated to the U.S. and was naturalized to the U.S. He is the author of two other Korean novels.
