William Leutz began to write poetry while he was living in Europe from 1978-1987. HIs first book, What Do You See: Poems of Perception, presented poetry based on a collection of thoughts drawn from modern and ancient metaphysical writers. This new book is broader in scope, and expresses aspects of his love of history, mythology, travel, nature, and literature. Sections of the book present personal memories, consideration of the cyclic nature of existence, and mythological ideas from different cultures and a brief reprise of some of the ideas explored in the earlier book.

Upon returning, to the United States in 1987, he settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After retirement in 2004, he spent time volunteering and serving as an officer with the Tulsa Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, serving as a docent at the Nature Conservancy's Visitor Center of the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, and also at the Thomas Gilcrease Museum of American History and Art. In 2013, after the passing of his wife, he rebuilt and returned to his family's old summer home on a small lake in southern, Michigan. This is her third book.
