Author Bio - Michelle Metcalf Michelle Metcalf is a fifth generation Oklahoman with a family legacy of educators. She earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University, and two master degrees in counseling and administration at Northeastern State University. She has over thirty years' experience in education as a history teacher, school counselor, and administrator. She currently is an administrator at a large technology center in Tulsa. She lives with her husband in eastern Oklahoma, and enjoys visits to the family farm in Adair County near the banks of the Illinois River with their children. Illustrator Bio - Ashlyn Faulkner Ashlyn Faulkner (nee Metcalf) is an artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She holds a degree in Art Education from Northeastern State University. Acrylic painting is her medium of choice paired with traditional techniques from other painting disciplines such as watercolor and oil. Ashlyn remembers the many summers visiting the family farm in Adair County and hearing the storied family tales. She loves walking outdoors, drinking kombucha, and making things.
