Pennyrose was born a first-generation American, in the land of "Milk and Honey" dreamers... Her creativity as a writer and artist developed as a young child in the Bronx, New York. Her adventurous spirit carried her to hidden places throughout the world, witnessing the mysteriousness of life behind closed doors of the human condition and the truths which follow. RIVIERA: The American dream gone amuck In this novel, I wish to capture the soul of its dysfunctional and schizophrenic residents. Hopefully, it brings to light the struggles of these precious souls who became ghettoized and victimized by life's tragedies, only to unveil their ghostly dreams in the shadows of their minds forever exhausted and unfulfilled. I see through their disturbance; their journeys which have taken them into a distraught and suffocating world seemingly to find perfection. Running from vultures that are merciless evildoers who crush and dehumanize their spirit. For the reader, they are survivors who triumph over their fantasies, leaving their distorted identities isolated within the secure walls of the rooming house named "Riviera". I am saddened, yet genuinely sincere in the hopes that this Novel brings to the reader a sense of tenderness to the tragic events that envelop my characters.
