The Vatican City --- The smallest country in the world, home to the leader of the Catholic Church and the stronghold for most of the faithful; the habitat of a significant number of treasures that have aged to be almost untouchable; perhaps uniquely surreal; one of the most secure places in the world, until now… Robert Gallant, through tireless years of research and dialogues with the minds behind historical concepts in Rome, presents his latest thriller, Rob the Vatican --- a novel that morphs the Città del Vaticano into the center of what could be the greatest heist in history. While this tiny state is known for being impervious, Gallant opens his readers' eyes into the possibility of the impossible --- a concept most often taught within the walls of this faithful religion.

Autorenporträt
I retired after 40 years as a researcher and high-level manager in the technology business. This background enabled me to do extensive research on each novel. I wanted the reader to both to enjoy a suspenseful thriller and learn unique information about a particular geographic area, culture, and/or technology. I have always loved writing. During my work career, I authored over 50 articles in scientific journals; wrote three books on technology that became reference standards in industry and universities; and one book on how to be a good manager and leader. My honors include being a recipient of the Toastmasters International Award for Communication and Leadership; and the Martin Luther King Day Award for my contributions to the advancement of minorities and women in business. I helped the Governor of Texas establish a task force of environmental leaders, business leaders, and state agencies to advance environmental excellence and economic growth in the State of Texas. It was unique in all the nation for bringing such diverse groups together to propel significant improvements in environmental performance and opportunities for all classes of people. But my real love was writing fiction. When I was a youngster growing up on a farm, I suffered a serious eye injury that required two operations. When the eye became infected, my health deteriorated and they had to remove the eye. During times I couldn't sleep, I began creating adventure stories to take my mind off the pain. That became my hobby. I chose to major in Engineering in college because I was very good at math and science. But I promised myself that later in life I would write fiction novels. I hope you will have a great time reading my novels, as I have enjoyed writing them.
