Robert B. Parker wurde 1932 geboren. 1971 promovierte er an der Universität Boston über die"Schwarze Serie"in der amerikanischen Kriminalliteratur. 1973 erschien sein erster Roman und bereits 1976 erhielt er den Edgar Award für den besten Kriminalroman des Jahres. Robert B. Parker ist am 18.01.2010 in seinem Haus in Cambridge (Massachusetts) verstorben.
