Roel van Hemert (born 21 November 1984 in Hurwenen, Gelderland) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for FC Hjørring in Denmark. Hurwenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Hurwenen was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Rossum, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was also a part of Rossum.
