Rogatien Biaou (born 19 May 1952, in Savé) is a Beninese politician and diplomat. Biaou was the Foreign Minister of Benin from June 12, 2003 to February 16, 2006. He was fired after President Mathieu Kérékou discovered Biaou's sale of land surrounding the Embassy of Benin in Washington to a U.S. company in 2002 was corrupt. Benin (Listeni/b ni n/), (formerly, Dahomey) officially the Republic of Benin, is a country in West Africa. It borders Togo to the west, Nigeria to the east and Burkina Faso and Niger to the north. Its small southern coastline on the Bight of Benin is where a majority of the population is located.
