Roger Boylan is an American writer (born 1951) who was raised in Ireland, France, and Switzerland. Boylan attended the University of Ulster and the University of Edinburgh. His novel Killoyle was published in 1997 by Dalkey Archive Press. In 2003, a sequel, The Great Pint-Pulling Olympiad, was published by Grove Press. German versions of both novels, translated by the award-winning German translator and author Harry Rowohlt, were critically and commercially successful. The third volume in the Killoyle trilogy, The Maladjusted Terrorist, was first published in Germany in 2006 and is forthcoming in English. Boylan s latest novel, The Adorations, deals with historical and religious themes and was scheduled to be published in 2009 in German translation by Kein und Aber, Zürich, but the publisher, having reissued the entire Killoyle trilogy in the autumn of 2007, postponed publication indefinitely, citing unfavorable economic circumstances. The novel will be appearing elsewhere.
