Roger "Peaceful Valley" Denzer (October 5, 1871 - September 18, 1949) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for the Chicago Colts and New York Giants around the turn of the 20th century. Denzer received his nickname from the play Peaceful Valley because he resembled one of its actors, Sol Smith Russell. Denzer was born in Le Sueur, Minnesota in 1871. He started his professional career with the St. Paul Apostles in 1895, as an outfielder. The following season, he converted to pitching and led the Western League with 200 strikeouts.
