Roger Hanin (born 20 October 1925, Algiers, French Algeria) is a French actor (and film director), best known for playing the title role in the 1989-2006 TV crime series, Navarro. Born as Roger Lévy, his brother-in-law was a former President of France, the late François Mitterrand, whose wife, Danielle, was the sister of Hanin's wife, Christine Gouze-Rénal. The President of the French Republic (French: Président de la République française) colloquially referred to in English as the President of France, is France's elected Head of State.
