Rogue River is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. As of July 1, 2009, the population was 2,090.The settlement was known as Woodville for many years, but was changed to Rogue River about 1912. Woodville post office operated from 1876 until 1912 when the name was changed to Rogue River.According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²). None of the area is covered with water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,847 people, 902 households, and 484 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,903.7 people per square mile (735.2/km²). There were 949 housing units at an average density of 978.1 per square mile (377.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.72% White, 0.22% African American, 1.41% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 1.62% from other races, and 2.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.09% of the population.
