Bleaching and composite restorations, as combined treatment, form a conservative approach for treatment of discolored, mal-shaped and mal-positioned teeth. However, bleaching affects immediate composite resin restoration bonding to teeth. Use of anti-oxidants has been recommended to address this problem. Lately, alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) has been suggested as an anti-oxidant for this purpose. Literature wise, hardly any studies and information are available on its form, concentration, and application time and their relationship to its clinical effectiveness. Therefore, this book, based on a study, provides information on the above aspect. This book should assist Dental students and research scholars and esthetic and restorative dentistry specialists and general dentists in gaining knowledge and deriving the benefits to optimize their desired outcome in their field of application pertaining to tooth bleaching, use of anti-oxidants and composite restorations.
