In Ethiopia, private sectors investment has been given a due attention and grand works such as financial provisions, infrastructure development, and other technical support service has been given to boost the sector. Despite the many opportunities, the sector faces major financial sector challenges that bottleneck its swift development. This study was thus conducted to identify the role of commercial bank in promoting private investment being operated in Debre Markos. For the study purpose, both primary and secondary data were gathered from the concerned bodies; managers and employees of commercial bank found in Debre Markos Town. To get quantitative and qualitative data from commercial bank in Debre Markos non probability sampling method have been used. This method would be used because the results will be expected to be more accurate. From employees of commercial banks, the senior managers would be selected using purposive (judgmental) sampling and sample from employees would be selected for interview.
