This textbook emphasizes the role of inflammatory mediators in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Inflammation is the process that plays an important role in the development of oral cancer, from the initiation of carcinogenesis, tumor in situ and advanced stages of cancer. The persistence of the harmful agent that induced the inflammation leads to the upregulation of the inflammatory response. This book illustrates the role of cox-2,vegf and angiogenesis in oral squamous cell carcinoma which is a systematic review. Thus inflammation is considered as the major hallmark of cancer. As early as in the 19th century it was perceived that cancer is linked to inflammation.
