Cancer is one of the major threats to public health in developed as well as in developing countries. Oral cancer prevalence is significantly high in men and the eighth most common cancer worldwide.In India, the standardised prevalence of oral cancer is 12.6 for every 100,000 population.Diabetes mellitus, a lifestyle disorder on the rise in the modern world is believed to have a significant impact on various body mechanisms & disease processes. This publication primarily aims to draw a possible interlink between the pathogenesis of two most common disorders in the Indian population- Diabetes and Oral Cancer with a brief on Premalignancies.
