Some of the elected women leaders' unaware about the functioning of gram Panchayats. The study makes an attempt to know about various provisions given in the 73rd Constitution amendment Act, 1993 as well as to study the effectiveness of the elected women leaders at grassroots level.The study is useful to all the elected women leaders to understand the concept, provisions, role and responsibilities in PRIs and for the personnel who are working at Village Administrative Office and Taluk Office in Nilakkottai Panchayat Union.

Currently, she is serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration, Mizoram (Central) University, Aizawl, Mizoram. Her interest areas are Environment Administration, Social Administration and, Public Policy in India.
