Poverty is defined according to the basic needs approach, the basic needs for survival of a person were included food, clothing, housing and health. The inability of person to meet minimum standard of the basic needs was called poor.This study was conducted to explore the role of micro-credit in poverty alleviation.Micro-credit is defined as the credit (Rs.10,000-Rs.20,000) got for income generating projects through community organization based on lending model.Interview guide was used as a tool for data collection, which included topics of demographic information of the respondents, information about micro-credit, impact of micro- credit on income, basic needs and social status of the beneficiaries and satisfaction level of the beneficiaries towards approach of micro-credit for poverty alleviation.
