Stéphane Benoist, D.Phil (1992, Paris-Sorbonne) and Habilitation (2001, Panthéon-Sorbonne), is Professor of Roman History at Lille-North of France University. He has published on imperial power, political discourses and conception of memory, festivals and ceremonies in the city of Rome. Stéphane Benoist, docteur (1992, Paris-Sorbonne) habilité (2001, Panthéon-Sorbonne) est professeur d'Histoire romaine à l'Université de Lille-Nord de France. Il étudie le pouvoir impérial, ses formes de discours et de représentation, les fêtes et cérémonies de Rome et la conception de la mémoire.
