Saviour Pirotta was born on the island of Malta and emigrated to the UK. Before taking up writing full time, he was a postman, a chef, and a storyteller. His retellings of myths, legends, and folk tales have been published around the world. He lives in Saltaire, West Yorkshire.

Alida Massari was born in Rome, where she studied illustration at the European Institute of Design. She has illustrated many books, collaborating with Italian, English, German and American publishers.She finds inspiration for her work from the architectural details of the ancient buildings, from the folk traditions and ancient art.
