This collection of stories was woven and spun from the fabric of our family's childhood. As a bedtime ritual, John told our young children nightly stories with main characters of their choice. Our son always chose a rooster and our daughter chose a different item each night. Using these two topics, John would spontaneously create a fantasy story meant to spark imagination (and occasionally teach a lesson or moral; however, some were just plain silly and had us all laughing in stitches and reminiscing about them for days). Shannon secretly wrote down several stories and compiled them in a simple book which John received for Fathers' Day, one year long ago. John was surprised and thrilled that his family had taken the time to commemorate his nightly creativity for posterity.

Autorenporträt
Both John and Shannon love being with their children to watch them learn, grow, and mature into young adults. Their interactions through coaching, mentoring and being with their children's friends and acquaintances (soccer, swimming, baseball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, room-mom, Vacation Bible School, etc.) were priceless, with countless opportunities to encourage their imaginations through every-day situations. Their children are ending high school and entering college now. But they fondly recall and highly value the formative years of their children's lives.

John and Shannon Wetzel reside in Chatsworth - the rural, north-west corner of the San Fernando Valley of Southern California.
