Traumatic dental injuries are unprecedented dental emergencies which lead to an unplanned visit to the dental office. It is of imperative importance that a prompt efficient emergency treatment approach be followed which increases the overall prognosis of the tooth or teeth involved. Although root fractures comprise only of 3% of all types of traumatic injuries their prognosis is guarded. Intra alveolar root fractures can be located either in the cervical, middle or apical third of the root. Recent research shows that the healing of an intra-alveolar root fracture irrespective of location is not dictated by the location of the fracture. With the continuing advent in newer clinical methodology and scientific research along with the introduction of contemporary technology in dentistry, restorations has become a relative possibility. In this book an attempt has been made to discuss the various treatment modalities in managing root fracture injuries.
