Born around 1908 in Bafilo, Essoh Irateï Zakari was the son of Bangna Kpara Tchakoura, known as Essoh-Tewé, and Bidaï Ali Gbana of the Wadi clan. He lost both his parents at an early age and was raised by his paternal uncle, Bangna Ali Abantè, Superior Chief of Bafilo from 1918 to 1963. The latter died in 1963, after a 45-year reign, and the regency was entrusted to his nephew Essoh Irateï Zakari. It was during this regency that he made a name for himself as a dynamic, outspoken man. He lost both his parents at an early age and was raised by his paternal uncle, Bangna Ali Abantè, Superior Chief of Bafilo from 1918 to 1963. The latter died in 1963, after a 45-year reign, and the regency was entrusted to his nephew Essoh Irateï Zakari. It was during this regency that he made a name for himself as a dynamic, outspoken man. He held the position of Regent until 1966, when Chief Nassam Saïbou Toma was appointed to the supreme throne. This new Chief was called to God on February 7, 1973, after seven years of reign. At the end of the regency period, Essoh Irateï Zakari was elected Superior Chief of Bafilo on May 1, 1975, following an election presided over by Head of State Gnassingbé Eyadéma. He reigned for 24 years, from 1975 to 1999, under the name Ouro-Koura Essoh Irateï Zakari. He died on the evening of June 5, 1999, atthe age of 91.

Kamoulou Assoumanou was born on December 27, 1993 in Boulohou in the Mô prefecture, where he attended primary school until obtaining his BEPC. He obtained his BAC2 in 2015 at Adjengré high school in the Sotouboua prefecture. In 2020, he obtained his Master's degree in Contemporary History from the University of Lomé.
