Autorenporträt
Rabbi Charles Simon was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1976. He served as a congregational rabbi for six years before assuming the position of Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, the male volunteer arm of the Conservative/Masorti Movement. During that time, he has created two synagogues in the United States, two in France and one in England. His most recent publications are, Understanding Haftarot: A Laypersons Guide, Intermarriage: Strategies and Concepts for Families and Synagogue Leaders, Biblical Leadership After Moses: Lessons to be Learned and Creating a Volunteer Culture which was recently translated into Spanish by the Seminario Latinoamerico Marshal Meyer. In addition to his efforts to develop volunteerism, Rabbi Simon has and continues to be the lead figure in the Movement who has been concerned with what is happening to our families. As a result of his publications and training programs for both clergy and lay leadership hundreds of congregations have learned how to more effectively understand and work with intermarrieds.
