After six movies for Sampaguita Pictures, where he became one of their most bankable stars, Concepcion signed a contract to another prewar movie company (Excelsior Pictures) where he made three movies - Pakiusap opposite Elsa Oria, Ikaw Pa Rin, and his last unfinished movie Mahal Pa Rin Kita. Concepcion died of a peptic ulcer in 1940 during the shooting of Mahal Pa Rin Kita.
