Autorenporträt
Growing up on the Behrens Farm with her grandparents, Susan loved dirt, hay fields, and catching bugs and butterflies. Every day after school you could find her mothering chicks, calves, kittens, puppies, or piglets. Susan lives with her husband on their own farm in Illinois. And now that her kids are grown, she's become mother to a flock of escape-artist chickens, her daughter's lovely saddlebred horse, two Jack Russell terriers, and the star of her stories-a rather loud, ornery goose.Susan found her calling as an editor but also loves to write, cook, eat, garden, and paint. She plans to publish more stories for young readers, hoping to instill the same deep love for family, farm life, and fun that she found on her grandparents' farm ... and the barn she called home.
