I'm Rufus the Rac! That's what we raccoons call ourselves, Racs. Everyone knows us by our adorable black masks and fancy ringed tails. By the way, you should know that we are nocturnal animals, which means we sleep all day and stay up all night. How cool is that? Me and my brothers and sisters have super fun playing, just like you kids do. We tease and chase one another over neighbourhood roofs, up and down trees, through your backyards, and anywhere else our long sharp claws will take us. We also have school time like you, only our main teacher is Mommy Rac. She teaches us all the raccoon stuff we'll need to know for when we grow up. Join my family and I as we embark on an adventure to find a new home! We encounter all kinds of other critters (and people) and we learn valuable lessons along the way.

Autorenporträt
Darlene Welton's childhood was divided between the city house of her father and the rural Ontario farm of her grandparents. Her heart was drawn to the purity and honesty of the farm life, its animals and the surrounding wildlife. Her stories are inspired by her encounters and relationships with domestic and wild animal life on the Credit River. A portion of all book profits will be donated to organizations whose praiseworthy devotion and good work have saved many a critter in need.
