Stranded in a strange, new world, can she trust her protector will help her find home? After losing the last of her family, Adaline buries herself in her research, only to unexpectedly travel to another world-where elves are more than just a myth. With no other options available, she finds herself dependent on the hospitality of a human king and the reluctant cooperation of an elf general. She doesn't know whom she can trust, so she vows to find her own way home. Meanwhile, her curiosity lures her further into the city, where elves and humans live side by side but rarely cross the divide. As she fights to remain herself while attempting to blend in, she gains new friends, human and elf alike. Yet she can't seem to stop yelling at the elf general, who may hold the key to her returning to her own world. Then her new home falls under attack. When the city's hidden enemies make her their primary target, Adaline's forced to fight for her life and accept that she can't survive alone. Set in a Renaissance-esque world, Ruins and Redemption includes a reluctant heroine who sees the good in others and a reticent elf trying to protect his people. It's ideal for readers looking for a found family, magical elves, fae lore, hidden destiny, and waiting evil. As the first book of The Aerytol Saga, this story blends fantasy, adventure, and a slow-burn romance into an unforgettable read.
Autorenporträt
Erin P.T. Canning has worked for more than fifteen years as a magazine and book editor, encouraging each writer's individual voice and strengthening their writing goals. She always planned to write a book. Then she had kids. While she focused on them, she stopped writing-for six years. Something deep inside was missing. Depression, anxiety, and anger forced her to search for herself, both for her sake and her family's.Despite fearing her skills had atrophied, Erin started writing again. One journal entry led to one blog post that led to her creating her podcast, Parents Who Write. Erin's current role as a podcaster and writing coach enables her to help others pursue their writing dreams. Now that her identity extends beyond chauffeur and tickle monster to include "word generator" and "comma placer," she finished writing her own shitty first draft in 2022, and the Aerytol Saga became so epic that she keeps dividing the book in half. Book One celebrates Erin taking herself off the shelf and making her own dreams come true. She earned her BA in Literature from The American University and MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She lives with her husband and their two boys in Maryland. You can find Erin on Facebook and Instagram (@erinptcanning).
