Jason Karp, PhD, is an internationally recognized running expert and the owner of Run-Fit, LLC, which provides coaching and educational services to runners and fitness professionals around the world. A competitive runner since sixth grade, Dr. Karp became one of the youngest college head coaches at age 24, leading the Georgian Court University cross country team to the regional championship. As a private running coach, he has helped many runners reach their potential, ranging from a first-time race participant to an Olympic Trials qualifier. Creator of the REVO2LUTION RUNNING certification, Dr. Karp has published his research in the scientific journals Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, and International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance. He is also the author of six books for the general consumer, including The Inner Runner and Running a Marathon for Dummies, and has published articles in Runner's World, Running Times, Shape, and many others. He has been a featured speaker at most of the world's top fitness conferences and coaching clinics, including the IDEA World Fitness Convention, has taught USA Track & Field's highest level coaching certification, and has led coaching camps at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Dr. Karp received his PhD in exercise physiology from Indiana University, his master's degree in kinesiology from the University of Calgary, and his bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science from Penn State University. The 2011 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year and 2014 recipient of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Leadership Award, Jason lives and works in San Diego, California.
