ABSTRACTThis study entitled women agricultural contribution on family economic development was set to analyse the rural women's agricultural contribution on family economic development in Uganda using Kakonde Tea Estate as a case study. It was conducted to establish the relationship between women labourforce and family economic development, to determine the relationship between family economic labourforce and women empowerment, and to determine the relationship between agricultural skills and family economic development in Kakonde Tea Estate, Mityana District. The study adopted descriptive survey design where both quantitative and qualitative data were used. According to the findings of the study, results revealed that rural women were the majority labour-force in agriculture, but they gain less from their labour-force. The study also revealed that family economic labour-force involves women who fully engage in family or domestic activities such as cultivation, planting, weeding,harvesting, caring for household livestock to influence family economic development and yet, they have limited access to basic health care, and social protection, employment opportunities among others.
