From famine to harvest, from death to birth, from chaos to kingdom - the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz had a profound effect on their culture. Set in the time when there was "no king in Israel," the love story of Ruth and Boaz led down the generations to King David and ultimately to the central theme of the Bible: the coming of the kingdom of God. In Ruth: A Parable of the Kingdom, Peter Lyne draws on his own lifetime of experience to show how the timeless principles at work in the story of Ruth have just as much power to change our world today. Includes questions at the end of each chapter to provoke thought and discussion about what these principles might look like in readers' own lives. Suitable for use in house groups or for personal Bible study.

Autorenporträt
Peter Lyne left his job as a teacher of physical education and religious education in 1966 and is now celebrating 50 years in Christian ministry. From the earliest days of the charismatic movement in the UK and as a key figure in the development of new church networks, his primary gifting as a prophetic teacher has been recognized across the denominational spectrum. He and his wife, Linda, are now based in New Zealand and still travel extensively overseas. They have three children, who have also adopted New Zealand as their home, and they now have 10 Kiwi grandchildren who are a constant source of inspiration.
