About the Book As a Jewish queen, Esther seems like she had every reason to be a biblical heroine. But Ruth is different. About the Book As a Jewish queen, Esther seems like she had every reason to be a biblical heroine. But Ruth is different. Ruth is the only Gentile woman whose name is used as a biblical title in the entire Bible. If Esther is the only Jewish woman whose name is used as a biblical title, Ruth is uniquely the only Gentile woman so honored. Sarah was the mother of nations, but there is no book of Sarah; Deborah was a remarkable woman prophetess, but there is no book of Deborah among the 17 books of the prophets. There is no book of Rahab, even though Rahab played an amazing role in saving the Israelites, and there is no book of Abigail, even though Abigail's kindness melted David's heart. Even in the New Testament, the Virgin Mary conceived Jesus, but there is no book of Mary; and Mary of Bethany, whose actions touched Jesus' heart so deeply that He said they would be told wherever the gospel was preached, has no book named after her. But the fact that a Gentile woman's name is used, Ruth, and we have the book of Ruth, is a marvel. If you want to stand as an intercessor for Israel, this is the book written for you. When you have nothing, like Ruth, you will learn from her that even with nothing, you can stand up for Israel as the most fragrant myrrh. The book intertwines the journeys of Ruth and the Song of Songs' bride, offering a profound exploration of their relevance in the context of the end times and Jewish Feasts.
