The Orandino and Verduzco dams are used for productive and ecotourism purposes, which modifies the flow and damages these ecosystems, this is due to the physical barrier that is generated by establishing carp and catfish farming in floating cages in Lake Orandino and the lack of zoning; in the Verduzco dam it has been tried to use through tilapia fisheries, however, due to the dynamism of this body of water this activity has not prospered. Therefore, an ecological study was carried out to determine the current status of both bodies of water in order to design adequate alternatives for integrated use. During one year, the physicochemical and biological water quality variables were recorded, the latter represented by the benthic and fish communities, to determine their behavior within these aquatic ecosystems. It was found that both water bodies have been suffering important changes in their structure as a result of poor management. Therefore, we designed alternatives that do not compromise the ecosystem services they provide and that are so necessary for society.
