SAARC is an economic organization whose main objective is to improve the living standards of the people of South Asia and to promote friendly relations among them. With reference to the changing world order, SAARC has come to achieve great importance for the region of South Asia. SAARC is a regional forum provided to the people of South Asia, who have common traditions, customs, history and cultural heritage as well as misfortunes and problems. SAARC is an attempt to bridge the gap through confidence building measures and to minimize the degree of apprehensions and suspicions that exist between them for decades. The purpose of SAARC is to help the people of the region to comecloser to each other and find areas of cooperation and collaboration in this age of globalization.
