Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Lieutenant JG Saavik is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe. She first appeared in the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) played by Kirstie Alley. Robin Curtis took on the role after a salary dispute caused Alley to drop out of the sequel, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984). Curtis also made a brief cameo appearance as Saavik in the next film, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986). Of the various characters created specifically for the 11 Trek films, Saavik is the only one to appear in three of the movies. Saavik''s background was never explored on screen. It has, however, been fleshed out in novels and comic books, though none of these sources are considered canon. According to the novels and comics, Saavik was born on Hellguard, an abandoned Romulan colony. She is half Vulcan and half Romulan.
