Since her divorce from Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank, Sabiha founded the Diamonds For Humanity Foundation in 2004, a global initiative aimed at returning the benefits of diamonds to the often conflict-ridden and poverty-stricken communities where they are mined. The foundation was inaugurated in April 2005 by the United Nations.
