On March 30, 1860, it was re-organized into Sackets Harbor, Rome & N.Y. Railroad before ceasing operation in 1862. Its route took it from Sackets Harbor through Smithville, Henderson, and Belleville, joining the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburg Railroad at Pierrepont Manor. Sackets Harbor is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The population was 1,386 at the 2000 census. The village was named after land developer and owner Augustus Sackett who founded it in the early 1800s.
