KATE SHERWOOD a commencé à écrire lorsqu'elle est remontée à dos de cheval après une pause de vingt ans. Elle aime penser qu'elle est beaucoup trop jeune pour la crise de la quarantaine, mais, visiblement, il n'était pas trop tôt pour changer un peu. Son écriture se concentre principalement sur les personnages et les relations, des personnages qui tentent de se trouver, de savoir quelle part d'eux-mêmes ils peuvent abandonner ou doivent conserver. Kate trouve la monogamie de tous les jours beaucoup plus simple à supporter lorsqu'elle partage son temps avec autant d'hommes dans ses histoires.
