It is a part of Ambaji-Balaram wildlife sanctuary. North Gujarat is following under Boswellia forest type, the following are the three main forests upon which the local people depending for various purposes. Present book deals withtotal 32 Sacred groves and 89 sacred plants are enumerated from the different forest patches, protected by the local people through religious belief and cultural practices evolved to minimize destruction.
