The population was 2,941 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.1 square miles (65.0 km²), of which, 23.7 square miles (61.4 km²) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.5 km²) of it (5.42%) is water.As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,941 people, 1,274 households, and 845 families residing in the township.
