To commemorate this, an area close by became known as Góra Tatarska'' (Tatar Hill. In 1531 the Grand Crown Hetman, Jan Amor Tarnowski led a Polish army against the Moldavian Prince ( Hospodar'') Petru Rare in the Battle of Obertyn.
