On March 20, 2006 Sagamiko, along with the town of Tsukui, also from Tsukui District, was merged into the expanded city of Sagamihara. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 10,372 and a density of 328.33 persons per km². The total area was 31.59 km². Tsukui was a district located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It was abolished on March 11, 2007. As of July 1, 2004, the district had an estimated population of 73,718. The total area was 238.44 km². (This data includes both the former towns of Sagamiko and Tsukui).
