High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Sahasi clan is a small Jat clan, related to Bhatti (Bhati) rajputs of the Jaisalmer reqion in Rajasthan, India. Jat names Sansi and Sahansi are quite possibly Punjabi versions of the same clan name.Genetic testing has shown that the Sahasi's to have Haplogroup R2 (Y-DNA), indicating a common ancestor who lived in Central Asia 25,000 years ago. It is interesting that this marker is relatively rare in India (10%) of the Punjabi population, for example. But higher among Parsees (20%), and much more prevalent among the Sinti (Romani people/Gypsy) tribe in Europe (50%), Kurds in Georgia (44%).
