J. D. Schraffenberger teaches English at Binghamton University. In 2005, he acted as director of Writing by Degrees, a national creative writing graduate student conference. Since 2005, he has been an editor for Harpur Palate, Binghamton's national literary journal. He is the publisher of the online journal www.elsewherejournal.org.
