There is an international need for cheap alternative forage crops that can tolerate high level of soil and water salinity. A lot of marginal and salt affected lands can be used to produce salt tolerant forage crops which might offer a good resource for animal feeding. Said Al-Khalasi is a specialist at the Department of Animal Wealth, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Sultanate of Oman. He obtained his M.Sc in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from Sultan Qaboos University,Oman (2009).He has over 20 years' experience in extension and research. He specializes in processing and formulating animal diets.
