Sam the Seagull: Manchester by the Sea is a true story of three boys: Brian, John, and Cliffy, who lived by the ocean. It was the day of their big adventure to Dana's Island. They explored seaweed, shells, sea glass, and more. When they stumbled on a small, fuzzy, little chick seagull, they knew, instinctively, that they had to keep it safe. Their lives changed that day. Brian's ducks, Daffney and Drake took on the role of foster parents, and the adventures began and lasted for forty years.

Autorenporträt
Brian L. Heath grew up in a small town, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. He was fortunate to be able to spend much time working on the water with his dad who was a commercial fisherman. The story of Sam the Seagull is a true story that was just one of many wonderful experiences of growing up in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Brian and Fatima have been married for over fifty years and have spent many years working together in the real estate industry, restaurant business, and hair salon businesses. Brian is an artist and enjoys gardening, and Fatima enjoys teaching a meditation class and writing. They presently are part owners in the Heath's Tea Room in Rockport, Massachusetts. Fatima and Brian are pleased to bring this childhood story to life in this book. They have two children and four grandchildren. Perhaps, one day they will continue to write the adventures of Sam the Seagull.
