The book Sameness/Otherness: Synchrona Analyses of Beckett s and Kafka s Prose aims to prove the imperishable aspect of Kafka s and Beckett s short prose writings in connection to the reception of their written material in Romania. The book is aimed at the general public but foremost at lovers of valuable and enduring literature. It could be considered a precious guide for students studying modern literature and literary criticism. The book combines themes of Irish literature, German literature and Romanian literature. Samuel Beckett evidently left a trace on the development of literature worldwide. Franz Kafka, with his Jewish cultural background influenced great writers of the twentieth century and last but not least even Romanian writers. How this is achieved becomes the main purpose of the discourse of the book.Their uniqueness is proven and outstanding. Their difficulty in being captured in slight and pre-determined patterns of literary criticism provides readers with a surplus of reading pleasure and excitement, a literary journey hard to be forgotten. The author wishes to give special thanks to her main doctoral adviser, Prof.Dr.Pia Brânzeu.
