This book is the second of my application of therapeutic writing. Sandcastles: Hiding ugly scars explores the mindset during a brief but painful broken marriage and bad choices. It also explores how my childhood influenced on decision-making and the consequences. This follows Sandcastles: Revealing Beautiful Scars which dealt with how I processed being involved in an accident, having eight repeated surgeries, physical visible wounds, pain, and eventually being healed. Therapeutic writing is not about writing pretty sentences that are grammatically correct. There is value in writing to gain a stronger, clearer, and healthier understanding of one's self and experiences. Through writing, one can observe cause and effect and understand patterns that might be holding you back. Why not try using therapeutic writing to ask yourself the right tough questions? I am a faith therapeutic writer, and published author, transcriber, and editor. I am also a wife, mother and pioneer of www.Therapeutic-writing.com. Being melancholic and introvert means I do not speak much, but I write a lot Therapeutic writing has helped me to repeatedly find lessons in many painful periods in my personal life, something that I now can use to help myself and others move forward in life free from the past. Each therapeutic writing exercise allows focus on a specific period of time to reflect and heal. After which to let it go and put it behind. I wish I could say I have always been a great writer and have always had a passion to write. I did not. Now, I love to write. I edit, I transcribe, I teach writing techniques and facilitate a therapeutic writing group. Writing has been a huge learning curve for me. Writing helps me process all that I am experiencing and it helps me capture moments I desire to remember. But the obvious benefits of writing being when I write, I reflect, I process, I plan, I let go, I embrace some things, I learn, I let go and I keep moving forward! These are just a few of the ways writing has refined me and made me a better person. I am less fearful! I have gained the courage to do more than I ever thought possible, including building precious relationships. I personally do this by sharing personal and very real everyday events that affects my life, in hopes of readers being inspired to positively evaluate their own lives. I consider how writing is like an online journal and that perhaps by writing about what I am going through in life it helps me process what I was learning about myself and about my role as a wife, a mother, a daughter and a pioneer. As a writer I have the opportunity to encourage others. This is an incredible honor! That is my gift, writing opportunities to encourage and build up others! I want to share with you a few of those ways, especially to encourage those of you who are embracing a writing journey. My desire is that anyone else who reads any of my books would hopefully find encouragement in whatever season of life they are in. More importantly to be able to write, reflect and reinterpret their own life story by exploring it from different angles. The end goal is to help you find meaning, find healing, find peace, let go of the past and move on.
